The pool is private, jointly owned property of the Faros Beach Apartments community under the Immovable Property Law (Cap. 224), administered by the Management Committee. It is not open to the public, and no member of the public has any right of entry.

The pool may be used by:

• Owners and their households
• Tenants and other occupants of an apartment, including holiday and short-term guests, for the duration of their stay
• Guests accompanied by an owner or resident while at the pool

Holiday and short-term guests are very welcome to use the pool during their stay. Use extends only to the people staying in the apartment: a short-term booking does not carry any right to invite friends, day visitors or other outsiders to the pool, and no such person is authorised to be there. This reflects the pool’s status as a private Type 3 pool under the Swimming Pool Law of 2025 — a status that depends on use remaining limited to the community and its accompanied guests, and which everyone at Faros Beach Apartments benefits from.

Rights to use the pool derive from an apartment. Any owner or resident may ask someone at the pool which apartment they are staying in or who their host is. Concerns about unauthorised use should be reported to the Management Committee or the pool’s Responsible Person, and unauthorised persons will be asked to leave on the Committee’s behalf. Anyone not complying with the displayed bather rules may be refused entry or required to leave under Regulation 19(4) of the Swimming Pool Regulations 2025 (Κ.Δ.Π. 231/2025).

Owners remain answerable for the use of the pool by their tenants and guests, and owners who let their apartments are asked to include these rules in the information given to their guests.

The pool must not be used for commercial activities, organised lessons, events or admission of members of the public.

Please observe the maximum bather number displayed at the pool, as required by the 2025 Regulations, and avoid entering when the area is already busy.

The pool may be used only during the opening hours displayed at the pool entrance.

The current opening hours are 08:00 to 22:00. The pool lights are switched off at 22:00, indicating that the pool is closed.

The pool must not be used outside the displayed hours or whenever a closure notice or barrier is in place.

The pool may be closed temporarily because of maintenance, water quality, contamination, severe weather, equipment failure or another health or safety concern.

Please do not enter the water or remove a closure notice until the pool has officially reopened.

All pool users must be healthy enough to swim safely and must use the pool and its facilities properly.

Anyone suffering from a communicable illness must not enter the pool.

People with skin conditions, abrasions or wounds should avoid entering because of the risk of infection.

Please do not swim if you are experiencing vomiting, diarrhoea, fever or another illness that could affect the health of other users.

Anyone who becomes unwell while swimming should leave the water immediately and seek appropriate assistance. These health requirements reflect the mandatory bather obligations in the Fourth Appendix of K.D.P. 231/2025.

Every bather must shower before entering the pool.

Please shower again before re-entering after using sun cream, exercising, eating or leaving the pool area for an extended period.

Showering helps protect water quality and reduces the amount of perspiration, cosmetics, oils and other substances entering the water.

The pool may be used only while wearing clean swimwear intended for aquatic use.

Ordinary clothing and shoes must not be worn in the water.

Swimwear designed to provide greater body coverage is welcome, provided that it is made for swimming and does not create a safety risk.

Children who are not fully toilet trained should wear a suitable swim nappy.

Children under the age of ten must be accompanied and actively supervised by a parent or guardian while using the swimming pool.

Appropriate flotation aids must be provided before children under ten enter the pool, as required by the 2025 Pool Regulations.

Supervision should be close and continuous. Watching from an apartment, balcony or distant sun lounger is not sufficient.

Older children who cannot swim confidently should also remain under close adult supervision.

Flotation aids can support a child but do not replace active supervision.

Running is not permitted around the pool.

Diving is not permitted.

Dangerous or excessively vigorous games are not permitted in the water.

Please do not push, fight, race, jump or swing from the bridge or pool edge.

Ball games are not permitted in or around the pool area.

Inflatables and swimming toys must be used considerately and must not obstruct other swimmers, create overcrowding or interfere with visibility across the pool.

Do not sit, climb or play on rescue equipment, safety signs, lighting, plant equipment or other pool installations.

The statutory rules expressly prohibit running, diving and dangerous games.

Glass bottles, glasses, jars, ashtrays and other breakable items are not permitted in the pool or poolside area.

Please use safe, unbreakable containers.

Broken glass can require the pool to be closed and drained and can create a serious hidden danger to swimmers.

Please keep food and chewing gum away from the immediate pool edge and out of the water.

Do not spit, urinate or dispose of food, drinks, cigarettes, litter or any other substance in the pool.

Please clean up immediately after eating or drinking and place all waste in the appropriate bin.

Personal toys, lilos, towels and other belongings should be removed when leaving the pool area.

Do not enter the pool if alcohol, medication, drugs, illness or another condition has impaired your judgement, balance or ability to swim safely.

Anyone responsible for supervising a child must remain alert and capable of responding immediately.

Alcohol must never be used as a reason to ignore the pool rules or behave in a way that disturbs or endangers other users.

Animals must not enter the swimming pool.

An assistance animal may remain with its handler in an appropriate poolside location but must remain under control and outside the pool water.

Owners and handlers are responsible for maintaining hygiene and preventing disturbance to other pool users.

The prohibition against animals entering the swimming pool forms part of the official 2025 bather obligations.

Please do not enter the pool if the water appears unusually cloudy, discoloured or contaminated, or if you cannot clearly see the bottom.

Report suspected contamination, damaged equipment, exposed electrical items, loose tiles or another safety concern immediately.

Do not enter the plant room or interfere with pumps, filters, dosing equipment, valves, electrical equipment or testing instruments.

Water quality is monitored and the pool may be closed when testing, treatment or maintenance is required. The 2025 Regulations require appropriate chemical and microbiological water quality, including regular microbiological testing.

Rescue equipment and first aid supplies are provided for emergencies and must not be moved, played with or misused.

In a serious emergency, call 112 and provide the name and location of Faros Beach Apartments.

Alert other people nearby and use rescue equipment only where it is safe to do so.

The presence of other residents, contractors or maintenance staff does not replace parental supervision or each swimmer’s responsibility to act safely.

All accidents, injuries and significant incidents should be reported to the Management Committee as soon as reasonably possible.

The 2025 Regulations require suitable rescue equipment, first aid materials and emergency contact information to be available at swimming pools.

Please follow any reasonable safety or hygiene instruction given by the pool responsible person, an authorised contractor, the Management Committee or a competent public authority.

A person who does not comply with the statutory requirements applying to bathers or visitors may be refused admission or asked to leave the pool.

A person creating an immediate health or safety risk may also be asked to stop the activity and leave the pool area.

Any longer term matter involving an owner or lawful occupier will be addressed through the owner and the procedures available under applicable law and regulations.
